After two preceding singles and a studio live video, the Aarhus, Denmark based instrumental avantgarde rock trio Karambolage returns with their second album SKÆLMSK, out today through Moment of Horseplay on January 16, 2026, an honest, uncompromising and playful continuation of their 2023 debut Prås.
Guitarist and composer Daniel Blaabjerg-Zederkoff states on the album:

“SKÆLMSK is about daring to be honest, precise and playful at once; to move between fragility, the melody that touches and moves, and the dissonance and riffs that tears at your ears and sends a friendly gut punch,”
Untranslatable SKÆLMSK captures Karambolage’s musical ethos, suggesting a kind of mischievous precision; playful but deliberate, smiling on the edge of collapse. The music grins crookedly, yet bites hard. It toys with expectation, with rhythm, with what almost repeats but never quite does.
Recorded live over two intense days at Feedback Studio, Aarhus, SKÆLMSK captures eruptive fuzz, transparent textures, obsessively detailed guitar work and the trio’s telepathic interplay. No click, no grid; only sudden drops and rises in tempo, stretched bars, and a freedom that balances chaos and intention. The music is dynamic and organic, yet meticulously shaped; raw but refined; aesthetic and honest.
Karambolage moves along the fault lines between avant-garde post-rock, explosive desert rock, dissonant jazz and progressive doom. Its three members are, or have been, active in bands such as Bersærk, Eigengrau and IIIrd Alternative.
On stage, the trio has earned a reputation as a phenomenal live act, performing at SPOT Festival, Colossal Weekend, Vinterjazz, and supporting Aiming for Enrike and Astrosaur. New shows in support of ‘SKÆLMSK’ will be announced in the near future.
