PARKWALKER – The Extra Mile: A Slow Stroll Through Sound and Stillness

PARKWALKER return with their sophomore album The Extra Mile, out on January 30, 2026 via This Charming Records. Known for their compact blend of emopop and slowcore, the band once again captures the quiet poetry of urban calm – the soundtrack to a slow walk through the fragile idyll of a city park.

PARKWALKER – The Extra Mile: A Slow Stroll Through Sound and Stillness

Imagine this: cold air, arms crossed behind your back, the faint hum of city life dissolving into the rustle of leaves. Tall trees open up a pocket of stillness as you pause on a bench, noticing the beauty of all this. That’s The Extra Mile — a record that breathes, observes, and lingers.

Formed in 2018, PARKWALKER consists of Hannes and Nicola (guitars), Arnaud (bass), and Armin (drums). Their interwoven clean guitars, insistent bass lines, laid-back rhythms, and Nicola’s warm voice create a timeless yet personal sound that may flash you back to the cherished ’90s — think American Football or Rainer Maria, but distilled through a distinctly modern lens.

Following their debut Distant Phenomena (2021), the band took their time — going the extra mile — to refine their sound. The new album was recorded at RAMA Studios and produced and mastered by Christian Bethge (Messer), ensuring both warmth and precision in every note.

Rooted in the DIY scene, PARKWALKER’s members have long histories with various projects, including Tidal Sleep, performing across Germany and beyond. Parallel to the full-band work, ParkWalker Picknick Club offers an intimate acoustic take — a project born during the pandemic where Nicola performs solo or with guest musicians.

Fond of parks – so far so obvious. With The Extra Mile, PARKWALKER invite you to slow down, breathe, and listen closely. Sometimes, standing still is what takes you furthest.
