TRACY BRYANT – Shares Hypnotic, Driving New Single “Widow” from Upcoming Album The Well

Los Angeles singer-songwriter Tracy Bryant unveils his powerful new single “Widow”, taken from his forthcoming album The Welldue May 22, 2026 via Taxi Gauche Records. Written during one of the most turbulent periods of his life, the song confronts the untimely death of Bryant’s father and the grief that followed. Driven by a hypnotic motorik rhythm, “Widow” moves with restless momentum—mirroring the emotional weight of loss and the inevitability of change. As Bryant explains: “When writing this song I imagined motion and movement… The song is about loss, change, and the reality of having to say goodbye.”

The mesmerizing video brings that motion to life, placing viewers on the highways of Los Angeles during rush hour, documenting Bryant’s daily commute as the city rushes by in a blur of headlights and asphalt.

Widow” offers a first glimpse into The Well, Bryant’s fourth solo album and a striking new chapter in his sound. Trading his signature guitar-driven approach for piano-led songwriting, the record began to take shape during the pandemic, when the halted promotion of his 2019 album Hush left Bryant rediscovering the piano and drawing inspiration from artists like Vince Guaraldi and Arthur Russell. The result is a distinctive blend of classic songwriting and atmospheric textures—touching on post-punk, ’90s indie, krautrock and psychedelia—brought to life with drummer Cameron Gartung and produced by longtime collaborator Joo-Joo Ashworth at Studio 22 in Cypress Park, California.

With The Well, Bryant reaches a new artistic peak: dramatic, expansive, and deeply personal—an album shaped by life-changing events and the clarity of an artist who now knows exactly what he wants to say.
