Punk rock power trio ULTRABOMB return with their new single “Checked Out,” available now on all streaming platforms. “Checked Out” captures Ultrabomb’s raw, road-hardened energy — fast, loud, and unapologetically direct — while reflecting on burnout, transition, and the moments when survival means letting go and moving forward.
Bassist and vocalist Greg Norton explains:
“Checked Out was inspired by life on the road, but there are many things we check out of. Sometimes in life you just need to move on.”
The new single builds on the momentum of “Artificial Stars,” which drew widespread praise for its urgent, classic-meets-modern punk approach. MAGNET described the track as “a swift blow to the sternum,” highlighting Ultrabomb’s ability to fuse Minneapolis hardcore roots with ragged, melodic grit.
ULTRABOMB is comprised of punk rock veterans:
- Greg Norton (Hüsker Dü) — bass, vocals
- Derek O’Brien (Social Distortion, Agent Orange, Adolescents) — drums, vocals
- Ryan Smith (Soul Asylum) — guitar, vocals
Together, the trio channel decades of punk history into music that remains immediate, confrontational, and vital — not nostalgia, but forward motion fueled by experience.
Set for release on April 3, 2026, The Bridges That We Burn was recorded at Creation Audio in Minneapolis and produced, engineered, and mixed by John Fields, with mastering by Justin Perkins (Mystery Room Mastering). The album expands Ultrabomb’s sonic reach while preserving the stripped-down urgency that defines their sound.
